Is Robert Kiyosaki a Pimp?

Is he? I'm not talking about pimp as in pimpin ho's, I'm talking about pimp as in - he pimps his books hardcore.
When I first got into Real Estate everybody I talked to told me to read Robert Kiyosaki and I did. It wasn't long before I had a handful of his books (started with Rich Dad / Poor Dad). I got a lot out of his books - I actually thought that he made some good points and his stories are always inspiring.
I went online to see what others were saying and I found a ton of info saying that he was full of bull.

I'm not surprised he is a bunch of crap and was involved with Est and Amway, but I cannot understand why PBS has broadcasted his stupid show many, many times. It was clearly an ad for his books and merchandise and taught me nothing!

You can tell by the way his book is written - full of dialogue - that it's written for people with a 5th/6th grade education. It panders to a get rich fantasy.
The useful information in the book could be boiled down to one or two pages.
