More MySpace Realtors
Sunday, January 28, 2007
I can't stop thinking about this whole Myspace / Realtor thing. What better way to find strange internet love and sell a house - all on the same site. Shouldn't these realtors be showing houses instead of showing themselves?

Surviving the Real Estate Bubble
Monday, January 22, 2007
CNN Money has a great article listing 6 strategies for surviving the Real Estate Bubble. The only problem I see is that most people who are screwed becuase of the bubble were in over their head. The CNN article basically warns buyers not to get in over their heads. Don't you think its a little bit too late for that.
Here are the quick tips-
Lower your expectations
Drive a hard bargain
Consider renting
Step away from the exotic mortgage
Shop for a rate drop
Keep an eye on your equity

I Found My Realtor on Myspace
Tuesday, January 16, 2007
More realtor advertising madness. Like I said about the Realtors on YouTube, why are these realtors spending time on gimmick marketing such as myspace? This is getting out of hand - Myspace belongs to hot, single chicks, not realtors.
Why, back in my day, we would be hitting the streets getting clients the old fashioned way.

More YouTube Real Estate Hijinks
Tuesday, January 09, 2007
Seriously, who (besides me) is watching these? Are realtors this desperate? I can understand using unique marketing tools to tap new markets, but who goes has the time to upload their lame Real Estate video?
YouTube is meant for girls dancing around in their underwear, or for people doing stupid stuff, like this->

Why it is ridiculous to pay down your mortgage.
Tuesday, January 02, 2007
I've been preaching this for years, "Use the bank's money - don't be in a hurry to pay down your mortgage". It seem like people are finally starting to get the message and Yahoo even agrees with me.
"On average, those families could gain $0.11-$0.17 per dollar by redirecting their mortgage prepayments into a 401(k). That comes out to a potential savings, on average, of about $400 per household every year."
